90 percent of my fishing is done with lures and since i got into it ,it is hard for me to be patient when bait fishing. the only time bait fishing works better than lures is catfish ,walleye, and pike fishing.

Use bait on one rod and throw lures on another rod.
No matter how high-tech things get, synthetics and lures will never be as good as the real thing. Bait tastes natural, smells natural, and the fish won’t spit it out once they realize it’s rubber and metal. Lures can be fine tuned to a species and can be more versatile and alluring, especially the high-end ones that mimic movement. They are also reusable.
Here in Florida especially saltwater fishing, There are people that swear natural bait is the only way to catch big fish, and there are people that swear artificial is the only way to go. The truth is either way can produce good fish, it’s more a preference thing. But there are pro’s and cons.
natural bait
pro’s- Easier, just throw it out there and maybe jerk it every now and then. Has more scent than most artificials/
con’s- Messy, stinky, sometimes hard to find live bait, more expensive than artificials. falls off hook and gets stolen by little fish easier. banned from alot of tournaments.
These are just a few pro’s and con’s I prefer artificials because it’s more fun to me
It’s a matter of personal preference and the amount of experience you have with artificial lures. Once an angler becomes proficient with lures, there is very little reason to use live bait. A novice angler needs to develop confidence in the lure of choice by using it a lot and becoming familiar with the lure. And I would agree that live or cut bait is the way to go with catfish.
hey man, for me it really all depends on the mood that i am in. i really havent found to many pros and cons when it comes to fishing except for when i want to go after a certain fish. a pro for lures for bass (my opinion) more bass are caught off of lures and a con would be is your casting arm might get tired. my mood that i was talkin about is if i feel like going out for a fun day of fishing expecially with my buddies lures are the way to go. when i am in a relaxed mood and i dont feel like workin too hard to catch the fish and i feal like just floating down the river or just kick back on the bank bait it the way to go for me. just bait the hook and let it work. a con on that would be is that i am pretty much limited to the type of fish that i may catch. if you are wanting a bait that will act like a lure is a golden shiner you can run the hook through its tail and it will swim around. that gives you the kick back of bait but the action of a lure. man i hope that this helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to sare the experience
