We just added a new favorite on our Fly in Fishing Channel on YouTube, and we’ve included it here for you to enjoy!

This “Canada Video” was sent to us by what could be the most creative family fishing trip group that we’ve ever had stay at one of our Outpost Cabins! They sure look like the whole family had a great time making this Rap Video of their fishing trip to Canada! Check it out:

Loganberry Tales

Loganberry is where we’ll be
Flying here straight with Kashabowie Outposts

With our friend Fern this place is tight
You can get yourself here in half an hour flight

This lake is great and the cabin is kickin’
You can catch yourself some fish and you’re finger lickin’

This place is the best and we wish we could stay
eat sleep and fish, every single day.

So now lets kick it, to the first verse
Common now Jake, just like we rehearsed.

The weather is perfect, not to hot or cold
Put this place for sale, and two seconds it’d be sold

You can swim if you want, but it’s a little chilly
and when you start to shiver, you’ll look really silly

So we make a fire, so big it burns a tree
You can say goodbye to your eagles and your bees

Where my momma lets my beard, grow out long,
and she tries to write verses to her own song.

Where I don’t need to stay and clean my dish
Instead I get to go out and catch a fish

It’s Canada, that’s where we are
Just ask Fern, cause it’s not that far.

The water’s cold, I’m not gonna lie,
but deep inside is the big walleye

Sleeping on the bed is nice and comfy
you won’t fall off like humpty dumpty

No other places have showers this nice
Look no more, Fern’s got the best price.

Only a three mile walk to the can,
hope I don’t get jumped by that shadow man,

This cabin is bombin’ I don’t really mean to diss
But do really need this bridge to take a piss?

I love it here, it’s all fun and good,
but my homies be callin’ they need me in the hood.

I can’t wait to get back to the USA
I guess Canada wasn’t all bad – ‘eh’?

Thanks for the memories, we had a lot of fun
but now I’m sad, cause it’s all done

I’ll miss fishing, playing too,
but we snuck 50 fish back,
so the joke is on you!

My best fish was only this big
It made me so mad I’m going to snap to this twig

You have a contest, picture of the year
That idea might get old we fear

It’s all about the creativity
We’ll always be the winners, don’t you see?

Thanks Kashabowie Outposts!
We’ll be back!

Here are some highlights…

* Critical elements you need to know to catch walleyes in a tough lake or under tough conditions.

* How to catch walleyes from shore if you don’t have a boat.

* Sneaky secrets and little known facts about some of the greatest jigging strokes of all time.

* Secret tournament tactics for taking your walleye catches to the next level.

* The first thing to look for on your lake map in each lake type.

* How to avoid crowds and find your own hot pack of walleyes.

* How to find hidden pockets of walleyes in screwball locations that nobody has a clue about.

* The one trick to use on your presentations that will double your catch rates (if you tournament fish, this one will cash checks for you!)

* The one method to use that will make any crankbait really come to life and produce.

* How to use the walleyes’ spawning time to up your catches all year long.

* How to catch suspended walleyes on YOUR local lake.

* How to catch the doggiest, dog-days walleyes on reservoirs and natural lakes.

* Strategies to use on the river when everyone else is scratching their head.

* Deadly trolling presentations from ice out to ice up.

“I am a tournament fisherman and found Inland Walleye to be a great
resource for transitioning from pre-fish to tourney day. You
explain the small adjustments that have costed me tournaments very
well. This program reminds me of the old IN-Fisherman WALLEYE
WISDOM book, only with a supercharger.” -Kelly, Minnesota

Our fishing has been tremendous of late. Pull up to a windy shoreline and start casting with a search lure. Catch a Walleye and switch to a jig and minnow. Seven feet has been the magical depth for the most part. We are starting to see Walleye move to rock humps and points but the weeds are winners these days. Lots of small minnows in amongst the weeds. Don has been coming forever. We are his fourth camp owners. He caught his biggest Walleye ever a fat 28 incher on a jig and rubber grub. Not two miles from camp.

Trophy Northern Pike have become a little harder to catch. Lots of crayfish in their bellies.Trolling deeper, 10-20ft or again working the weeds with a spinnerbait. White has been a hot colour. We have been topping out lately with 35 fish.

Smallmouth are hitting anything you toss. You just have to present it to them.

Water levels are above average for this time of year. Bugs haven’t been too bad.

Looking forward to another fantastic week of fishing at Woman River Camp.

We are half way through our 2010 fishing season and would like to thank our guests and share some of their fantastic photo’s. We always appreciate the great video’s and photographs they send us.

Each year we have a photo contest for our guests, and the winner gets to go fishing on us during the next season. This contest is a challenge we enjoy each year. There are so many fantastic photo’s it makes it difficult to pick the winner. Here are some of the great photo’s we have accumulated over time.

Lake pictures are always great, there is no shortage of beautiful scenery in Northwestern Ontario.

Pictures with Aircraft in them score pretty high as well. Fishing or Boating pictures work well, like this shot at Wapikaimaski lake.

A shot including one of our outpost cabins is a sure bet. Like this unique shot out the front windows of Tommyhow lake

This is a great picture of C-FOCC departing with a canoe.

Different lake shots with varying weather conditions, can be interesting.

This is a real nice shot off the dock at Loganberry lake.

A shot that included one of the outpost cabins in it would be almost impossible to pass up as the winner.

Keep the pictures coming in, we love them all.

When you are fishing Canada, especially at Woman River Camp, pre-order your live bait. We are glad to save you a stop on your way to camp. Let us know in advance and we will have your bait in camp waiting for you. Leeches by the pound or night crawlers by the flat. We always have minnows in camp.

We had a major mayfly hatch a while back. When I posted the Top 5 Techniques for a Mayfly Hatch. You needed to be fishing the flats and in the weeds to hook fish.

The hatch is over and the Walleye should start to move to their summer habitat shortly. This week it was obvious a Walleye chop on the water sure made catching easier. The flat sunny days were great for fishing weed edges or casting for Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass. Minnows, leeches and night crawlers are all catching fish.

Sheryl landed her largest Northern Pike ever – 42″ on a pink spoon. Paul thought he had the big Walleye for the week in his group and money in the bank with a 27″er but the rookie, Alex, blew him away by landing a 30.5″ Walleye on a jointed Rapala. He was fishing for trophy Northern Pike at the time. Daryl and the boys spent some time Lake Trout fishing and landed a bunch. It was just getting good when a thunderstorm blew in and they called it a day. Big Trout of the week was a 30.5 inch caught by Shawn.

Fishing Tip – Last week I had the task of removing another treble hook from a man’s hand. Two hooks one finger. Save some pain and go barbless!

I had a chance to go up to Bathurst Lake – one of our Remote Lake Adventures. Great company and pretty good fishing considering the thousands of mayflies on the surface. Seagulls were having a feast. We boated close to a hundred Walleye. Could have been more but the bite was super light. The bigger fish were caught in the afternoon on Mepps (firetiger with white bucktail) while casting for Northern Pike. The Walleye were just pounding them!

Comment of the week – “forget the take home fish, we are having too much fun landing lunkers”

Remember to become a Fan of the Woman River Camp Facebook. With our internet speed, it is faster loading photos to the fan page than our website.

Keep your line wet and tight!

I’ve been rattling on and on about the wildlife at Uchi , more so than usual. It’s just that there is so much activity going on, I feel I have to share it with you. This is one of the most unique pictures I’ve seen of a cow moose with her baby – photographed by Dave Vaughn. The same Dave that released a 29 inch walleye yesterday, then his buddy a 45 inch northern.

The Castro party also had a 45 incher on their line but it got away before getting a picture. I’m still having trouble getting my guests to post their fishing reports as the days just fly by and we run out of time. Still trying, still trying and still trying……..

For Any Situation You’ll Find Yourself In…

Including all 4 seasons… whether you fish from a boat or from shore.

==> http://budurl.com/crappiefishing

Here are just a few of the many secrets Joel will show you for each one of these situations:

From A Boat

How to turn your boat into an automatic crappie catching machine with a unique trolling system that combines weird bait movements, color combinations, multiple presentations, and Joel’s “lawn mower” trolling pattern.

From Shore

A unique method for popping a slip cork towards the shore to create an irresistible”attack urge” in every crappie’s brain.

Spring Crappie Fishing

4 attack triggering baits spawning crappie rip into like rabid dogs! (…and if you rotate them using Joel’s simple instructions the action won’t die down until your arms are about to fall off.)

Summer Crappie Fishing

How to stab a minnow with your hook so it “spasms” through the water and gets nailed by suspending summer crappie. (You’ll use Joel’s “stabbing secret” with light line, a light sinker, and a split shot to catch more crappie than anyone else in your spot…)

Fall Crappie Fishing

A group of little-known bass fishing baits you can modify to catch more crappie than anything else in the fall. (The real power of these baits comes from the simple “artificial swim” technique Joel uses with them to drive crappie wild!)

Winter Crappie Fishing

How to use “hidden gems” found in horse manure to catch a whole school of crappie in the winter! (These are rarely found in water… but their combination of bright coloring, rapid movement, and small size make them irresistible to crappie.)

==> http://budurl.com/crappiefishing

Well, well, well….after posting my last blog the partridge eggs have hatched and mom has left the nest with her babies. This is all that was left behind. You can see that two did not survive however mom has 11 to look after as it is. She won’t be far away but guaranteed she will be far enough so as to protect her young

Cheryl, Phil and Scott Hildebrand brought to my attention two more additions to the Uchi Family. Here is another picture of eggs but this time their loon eggs – look closely to see the nest tucked under the shrubs.

So much excitement on Uchi Lake this year. Cheryl was lucky enough to capture a cow moose with her calf following closely behind as they exit the lake.

And mother partridge was just spotted by Walt as they waddled past his cabin. Walt is a darn good photographer so I anticipate receiving some nice pics of them throughout this week.
